Right okay this is the final animation which we handed in this morning ... we actually have more than I originally thought we did and that was a nice surprise but we still have loads to do ...

Vicky and I both worked on editing this on After Effects, putting Vicky's backgrounds into the animation, and then it was just quickly put into Final Cut/Premier Pro to piece them all together. I'm alot more confident using After Effects now than I was like 2 weeks ago and I'm not actually scared of using it anymore, I put in the fireworks in the carnival scene using the effects on AE (CC Particle Systems II i think it was) ... and I learnt that whilst doing the Open Day for Animation so that was pretty cool to use in our Animation just to give it abit more ...

I know its kind of hard to read whats actually happening ... but its SUPPOSE to be the old man running onto the screening (happy and full of life) and he does a little dance but as he's doing it hurts his back and has to walk off (because even though he's got this burst of energy at the end of the day he still has the body of an elderly man) ... and because it's not finished it cant be read well ... but I'm hoping that when it is finished the facial expressions will show that

This was the first reaction I showed on Tuesday and yeah it was kind of boring and slow so in this second video I changed it to give it a better anticipation and therefore I think it was more interesting to look at then my previous try ...

I know I have to weight the old man more and make him appear to be struggling to get up ... and here I just slowed the movement down by adding some more frames ... but I will make it alot better for the degree show :)

Woohoo! Has finally managed to find out how to upload them all ... okay I'm just going to upload them in the order as they would be seen in the animation ...

Some more Character Design for the sting that I just found ...

Playing around with the colour palettes on some of the key poses ...
When I was trying to find our main character I wanted to go for a different range of characters for example different head shapes and sizes. One of my favourite ones was the character in the middle however I felt that he looked very similar to the Prospector from Toy Story 2. Therefore, I finally chose the bottom right character. Also on this page I was playing around with the leotard designs and how the characters would look in it...
Head turns for the final character ...

Character Designs

First of all Phil Ballaam is amazing (he told me to say that lol) ... but anyway yeah these are just afew of the drawings Ive done for the character design of our sting. I love designing new characters and so I really enjoyed this aspect of the work, now all thats left is bringing him to life :)
